With 2022 now in the rearview mirror, we'd like to share some highlights from the year.

In 2022, we made 29 investments (21 new & 8 follow-ons) across Electrification, Audio, Marine & Recreation, Outdoors, and Specialty Vehicle Manufacturing. These companies are building innovative solutions that impact the future of how our world moves, works, lives, and thrives.

In 2022, we (safely) returned to IRL events, which meant an opportunity for IRL networking with new people and IRL catching up with our favorite people. At TechNexus, we believe in the power of bringing people together and creating ecosystems, which is why we launched our 'Rethink' event series in 2022.

Celebrating Women Across Venture & Tech

In March, we kicked off Women's History Month with a Celebration of Women across Venture & Tech. 60+ people convened for an evening to shine a spotlight on Chicago-area women who started a career in venture & entrepreneurship, ascended to new heights of leadership, disrupted industries, and are empowering future generations of problem-solvers.

rethink: MOBILITY Reception

In May, we hosted an exclusive reception for Founders and Friends of TechNexus in San Mateo, CA. We were joined by some of our portfolio founders, additional entrepreneurs, investors, and other fellow leaders focusing on the future of mobility. This event was particularly special because our team was able to meet some of our portfolio founders IRL for the first time.

PRIDE! in Chicago's Startups

In June, we partnered with Chicago:Blend and StartOut to host an evening of no-holds-barred conversations with LGBTQ+ founders, investors, and business leaders about entrepreneurship, queer identity and navigating the fundraising environment.

rethink:FIT Summit

In July, we hosted a celebration of the resiliency within Chicago's fitness/wellness & recreation venture ecosystem. 200+ nationwide gym operators, emerging startups, D2C brands, outdoor enthusiasts, FitTech leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs convened together to reflect & rethink what these industries look like now, and where we'll go next, featuring Keynote Speaker: Dan Arment (CEO of Riddell)

rethink: GROWTH Reception

In October, we hosted an exclusive reception for Founders and Friends of TechNexus in San Francisco. We convened corporate executives, entrepreneurs, investors, operators, and ecosystem players who take abstract approaches to problems, go against the norm, and Rethink Growth™.

Spook-TECH-Ular

In October, we partnered with some Chicago-based VCs and service providers to throw a Halloween party for the Chicago innovation & tech community at Tree House. It was a night for this hardworking community to let loose and have some well-deserved fun.
